Service Technician(s) - Essex + Wyoming

SouthPoint Equipment is looking for service technicians to work on agricultural, construction and heavy equipment. The service technician performs mechanical repair and maintenance. Preference is given to licensed techs who understand the ag and construction market, but also available to apprentice techs that are looking for a rewarding career, will be considered. This position reports to the Service Manager. A great compensation package will be based on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities May Include, but Are Not Limited to the Following:

  • Other mechanical work as required.
  • Install new and added-on equipment.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and techniques.
  • Complete accurate and timely reports to record problems and work performed
  • Deliver excellent customer service skills and work well in a team environment
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, and advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Inspect and test equipment, diagnose faults and malfunctions, repair and replace mechanical units, test and adjust units to proper specifications
  • Some on the road work, and a rotation of Saturday mornings may be required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Good time management communication skills
  • Flexible to work schedule and extended hours
  • Computer literate, and able to utilize and learn new technology
  • Strong product and technical knowledge in agricultural and heavy equipment
  • Currently pursuing a License or hold a Journeyman license in Automotive or Heavy Equipment preferred

Education and Experience

  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience as an agricultural or heavy equipment technician is preferred

  • Co-ordinate activities and co-operate with other departments of the Dealership to best serve the whole goods needs of the customer.
